Child-Specific Decision to Become Involved
1.    Your child’s teacher asks you to help your child study for an upcoming math test.
2.    Your child’s teacher asks you to talk with your child about his/her school day.
3.    Your child’s teacher asks you to work with your child on a specific homework assignment.
4.    Your child’s teacher asks you to look over your child’s homework.
5.    Your child’s teacher asks you to schedule a conference to discuss your child’s progress.
School-General Decision to Become Involved
1.    Your child’s teacher sends home a note asking parents to send supplies for a class party.
2.    Your child’s teacher asks you to send supplies for an educational activity in the classroom.
3.    Your child’s teacher asks you to attend a student program         at the school in the evening.
4.    Your child’s teacher asks for parents to volunteer a few hours of time to beautify the school grounds.
5.    Your child’s teacher asks for parents to help organize a field day at the school.
6.    Your child’s teacher asks for volunteers to chaperone a class trip.
7.    Your child’s teacher asks you to come to school to talk about your work or a special interest of yours.
8.    Your child’s teacher asks you to help out in the classroom         (for example‚ listen to children read).

Can’t leave work‚ My child would want me to‚ No transportation‚ Don’t have skills
I am not interested‚ Can’t afford it‚ Don’t have confidence‚ Too many other responsibilities
The teacher doesn’t really want me to‚ Don’t understand what the teacher wants‚ I would do this activity
Very unlikely = 1‚ somewhat unlikely = 2‚ somewhat likely = 3‚ very likely = 4
